The Wien Museum Karlsplatz. The building has five floors, the first three have regular windows and was built in the 1950s. In 2023 the museum reopened with two new floors added on top and a large glass pavillon at the main entrance.

Vistors can visit a terrace that looks out over Karlsplatz. The baroque Karlskirche (Charles Church) that can be seen from a whole new perspective.

At the centre of the museum is a hall containing large objects, including the original figures from Donner Fountain, a large wooden model of St. Stephan's cathedral, a metal awhale hanging from the ceiling and a "floating" carriage. The sign from the now-demolished Südbahnhof (South Train Station) is presented on the wall.

The museum also has artworks from the Austrian artists such as Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele.

The exhibition is divided into chapters. Each chapter has an introoductory text that is linked to the tactile floor markings. Further navigational information - description of the architecture, location of hands-on stations, screenreader compatible wall texts, etc - can be accessed digitally via the online guide. Tactile QR codes will take you directly to the information with your own device.

There are several interactive, hands-on and tactile stations in each chapter. In this photograph a model of the original hospital can be investigate by touch and information is provided in Braille. Tactile QR codes also link to further information and audiodescriptions in the online guide.

All audiovisual informatuion is subtitled in German and Englich and has Austrain Sign Language (ÖGS) translations too. Screens and interactive station are designed to be accessible and comfortable to use for wheelchairs users.
