Bus numbers 244, 273, 274, 275 stop at Bamford regularly, en route between Sheffield and Bakewell. Bamford Railway Station is on the train line between Sheffield and Manchester. The Anglers Rest is about three quarters of a mile up a hill from the station along the main road. Most buses stop adjacent to the rail station, but a few come into the village, with bus stops within 100m of The Anglers Rest
