Overview
Was transiting through Edinburgh Airport from Sumbrough (Shetland) to Heathrow, after a weeks photography with a group of Disabled guys. I could not use the internal steps of the aircraft as they were too steep. Help had been organised before travel and had worked well else where BUT my group all de -planed but I was told indefinite delay as they were very busy as lots of planes landing!! (what a surprise it is an International Airport) The assistance company would not use the ramp which they had and which I had used to walk off elsewhere. After 40 minutes an Ambu-lift was sent after some strong comment from self and aircraft captain - the driver being told within my hearing over the radio that he had drawn the short straw. After a letter of complaint was emailed - an immediate reply and explanation was sent by the Assistance Company BUT the Airport only sent a reply after being chased (after 2 weeks) and said I had been told the reason for the delay - I have asked for a more detailed reply to include why my group were not told where I was or I where they were! And why Edinburgh Airport has no telephone lines available for the public to phone in on, they say every one can contact them on Twitter and Facebook - BUT at 74 I use neither!!! Still waiting and chasing reply after a month - VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
