Getting Here

Due to it's rural location the site can be tricky to reach by public transport but is served by a regular service between Ashbourne and Matlock (no 110/111) is operated by Hulley's. The nearest towns are Matlock, Ashbourne and Wirksworth from where it is possible to take a taxi.

Parking

We have a spacious public car park with plenty of accessible bays, you'll find most of these at the front of the car park by the visitor centre. There are also accessible bays in the Sheepwash and Millfields car parks. The visitor centre car park costs £2 for up to 1 hour, £3.50 for 1 to 2 hours, £6 for 2 to 4 hours and £7 for over 4 hours . The Millfields and Sheepwash car parks have a reduced tariff. There are no concessions for blue badge holders at Carsington Water and payment is made at the end of your visit. Our car parks are ANPR car parks so before you leave simply head to the payment terminals and type in your registration number to pay. Payment can be made by cash, card and contactless.
