Reviews to Read
Written by Claire D'All, Reviewer Engagement & Outreach Coordinator |
I can’t believe the first month of 2020 is over already, where has time gone. It’s been a great start to the year already, with lots of reviews being written so far. I’ve been loving reading them all, here are just a few of my favourites.
January Highlights
Emma Bridgewater Factory
Aberdeen International Airport
Tullie Inn
Sherwood Forest
Emma Bridgewater Factory
Firstly, I loved reading LizM’s review on their visit to Emma Bridgewater Factory tour in Stoke-on-Trent. It’s great to hear that the accessibility information that they provided matches what is put into place. LizM says “the tour guide was incredibly helpful, without making a big deal out of it, at ensuring that I could see and participate fully along with other visitors.” It’s great to hear that they had a lovely visit and if you would like to read their review, follow the link above.
Aberdeen International Airport
Travelling can be a very stressful process and the way staff interact with you can make all the difference. Reviewer Chronicallydems had great service at Aberdeen International Airport from staff during their latest trip, they say that staff “made me feel very supportive at each step of the travel through the airport.” You can find out more information on what staff did to make them feel this way by reading their airport review.
Tullie Inn
Bellrock’s review on their visit to Tullie Inn in Alexandria is very informative and the use of images is a great way to show the issues they had within the accessible toilet. The accessible toilet is also a baby change which they say isn’t a problem, “but the changing platform would not stay up against the wall.” In their review they give alternative solutions to the parking and accessible toilets which is great.
Sherwood Forest
I love going out for walks in nature, although I usually have the same problem as our reviewer crispycard in finding accessible routes for my wheelchair. I really enjoyed reading one of their latest reviews though of their visit to Sherwood Forest in Edwinstowe, especially when they’ve written that it’s “one of the best accessible days out we have had in a long time.” Sounds like they’ve added a new accessible visitors centre recently too which you can read about in their review.
Reviewer of the Month - MikeA
Inverness Youth Hostel
Caledonian Sleeper - Inverness - London
Eden Court Theatre and Cinema
For January our reviewer of the month is MikeA. In the Euan’s Guide office we’ve all really enjoyed reading their latest reviews, especially their visit to Inverness Youth Hostel. It sounds like they had a great visit and the review that they left is very informative and helpful for anyone that is looking to stay. Even though there are a few issues mentioned, it sounds like the staff really listened to what was said and took the recommendations onboard. All reviews submitted to Euan’s Guide are sent to the venue so when you suggest accessibility improvements the venues do get your feedback. I’m also loving the use of images within MikeA’s review to illustrate to the readers what is being said. Thank you MikeA for your great reviews, we look forward to reading about more of your travels soon!
Where has been your favourite place to have visited so far this year? Don’t forget to leave us a review and tell us all about it.
