Overview
Amazing new accessible visitor centre with cafe 100 yards down from the old one, plus a courtyard of accessible shops and cafes. Accessibility in the forest remains good on most paths for wheelchairs and scooters, plus scooter hire available. One of the best accessible days out we have had in a long time. Parking £4 for the day (free for RSPB members).
Transport & Parking
Ignore signs for main car park and go to visitor centre where there is disabled parking. There is also a bus from Worksop that stops at the Visitor Centre.
Access
Forest is brilliant and most paths wheelchair accessible although not all - ask at the Visitor Centre. Avoid very wet days due to muddy surfaces. The short route to the Major Oak is good and the longer trails are fine if you can cope with some bumpy surfaces. All shops and cafes accessible. Not many seats along the paths for walkers.
Toilets
Good, clean disabled loo. Changing Places toilet and shower.
Staff
Outstanding staff and volunteers who will help you make the best of your visit. While we were visiting there was a blind group being given a tour of the forest by rangers which might be worth asking about.

Great to hear they do have scooter hire. I plan on visiting but they never answered me when I asked if there were scooters to hire.
