Venue Description

Set in over 600 acres of beautiful parkland, ZSL Whipsnade Zoo is an escape from the urban jungle. With over 2,500 amazing animals to discover, as well as displays featuring sea lions, brown bears and elephants, there are loads of reasons to be wild about ZSL Whipsnade Zoo. Ride through wild animal territory on the Jumbo Express Steam Train (seasonal, charges apply), park your car at designated spots around the park or see animals up close from the safari bus or on foot.

Accessibility

There is level/ramp access at the entrance to ZSL Whipsnade Zoo and to the animal houses, café's, safari bus, train and children's farm. The zoo covers an expansive area and visitors with mobility issues should consider the use of a motorised scooter or pay to enter the zoo in a car and park in specified areas around the zoo.

Toilets

There are four disabled toilet facilities around the Park, clearly marked on the map given out on entry. The toilet facilities near the Main Entrance have shared access and the nearest disabled toilet facility to the Main Entrance that does not have shared access is the one located next to the Discovery Centre.

Staff

Staff receive disability awareness / equality training.
