Newly refurbished, accessibiilty in mind.
Visit date:
Overview
The gallery, having been closed for some time, has been reopened to not only reveal the original Victorian ceiling, but to wide corridors, lift access and good toilet facilities. The new ceramics collection on the first floor is well worth the visit. Though disappointed the gallery is not free of charge any longer, there are different fee options depending on income and whether in receipt of benefits.
Transport & Parking
Parking is 5 minutes away. I don't drive so unsure about what the provision is like. They were also unclear if they had any spaces closer. Accessible by bus - stop directly outside the gallery. 2 entrances both with ramped access.
Access
Toilets
Good level access and wide corridor but only 1 designated accessible toilet. Clean, well kept.
Staff
No particular comment for staff - nothing bad at all, just no one stood out in particular.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I would say that there website lacks detail - under 'accessibility' it only includes information on the 2 entrances rather than information relevent to the whole experience.
