Venue Description
Awen Cultural Trust’s purpose is to ‘make people’s lives better’ and through our libraries we are committed to improving the literacy of people of all ages; supporting reading for pleasure through initiatives such as the Summer Reading Challenge; enhancing wellbeing and tackling digital exclusion through events and activities; and providing unbiased access to sources of trusted information. We were the first library service in Wales to remove fines for overdue books.
Accessibility
Accessible ramp to main entrance of building Automatic entrance doors to building Low level reception counter Standard Lift to Lower Ground & First Floor – press and hold ‘Open Doors’ button for gym side doors access. Library based on first floor through Gym, standard double doors into Library balcony space.
Toilets
Accessible changing room on ground floor Accessible toilets on Lower Ground and First Floor The accessible toilet on first floor has step-free access, doors to toilet are is standard, but accessible toilet has a wide door and easy-turn lock. The tap is a mixer sequential tap - you lift and turn it to adjust pressure and temperature. There are grab rails fitted.

Venue staff have attended general disability awareness training, and completed relevant Awen Learn modules.
