Worsbrough Mill Museum
Worsbrough Mill Museum, Barnsley, S70 5LJ, United Kingdom | 07598778411 | WebsiteVenue Description
Worsbrough Mill is a working mill producing a range of premium quality organic flours and associated products for trade and retail customers using water power from the River Dove. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely day out exploring the Country Park. The 60 acre reservoir is a haven for wildlife and regularly attracts birdwatchers and anglers. We have a shop and Visitor centre, open on selected days throughout the year. Please visit our website for further details. There is a cafe onsite open all year roundAccessibility
The cafe, Visitor Centre and shop are wheelchair accessible. There are steps between the Visitor Centre and shop but both can be accessed via the courtyard. There are several wheelchair accessible picnic benches onsite Parts of the Mill itself are not wheelchair or pushchair accessible. Visitors can access parts of the ground floor and view the water wheel in action. We have a 360 tour of the Mill and a Visit England access guide showing images of the interior of the Mill. We have a visual story to help visitors plan their trip. The Mill is dark in places, and when it is in operation can be quite loud. The Country Park has difficult terrain in places, and a narrow bridge not accessible to all wheelchairs about half way round the reservoir path. Paths can become particularly muddy and waterlogged after periods of bad weather. Some tree roots are growing up in the middle of some paths. There is a short walk beside the canal and back up the path towards the Mill which has level access, although parts of the path can become muddy after periods of bad weather. There is an accessible toilet opposite the cafe at Worsbrough Mill.
