Venue Description

A self catering Holiday let offering a peaceful rural retreat on the Staffordshhire / Shropshire border. Just 3 miles from the pretty market town of Eccleshall and close to a host of attractions of all kinds. ( see our website for further details). The cottage is an annexe to Brook House where we have our Bed and Breakfast and Wellness therapy room. Meals and treatments can be made available by arrangement.

The downstairs is open plan and wheel chair accessible throughout. Doors to the bedroom and toilet / wet room are 82 cm wide. There is wheelchair access up one side of the toilet and a moveable fram is provided to help with getting on and off the toilet. The toilet seat is 45 cm above floor. The sink is of a semi pedastle design. The wet room area is 183 cm X 85cm . An adjustable height non fixed shower seat is provided. In the kitchen the oven, grill, fridge and dishwasher re all under counter. The sink and work surfaces are at the standard height of 90 cm. The dining table height is 77 cm. The flooring throughout the open plan area is Karndean. The bedroom provides wheel chair access of more than 1 metre up one side of the Kingsize bed. The top of the mattress to floor height is 58 cm and there is 21 cm clearance under the bed . No hoist is provided but we will work with you to ensure any additional equipment needed can be supplied (at additional cost). The upstairs en suite bedroom is not wheel chair accessible. Outside there is a covered patio area with power supply. The hard standing beyond this is an interlocking gravel on a firm base which while not ideal should be manageable by most wheel chair users. The woodland edge path to the bottom of the garden, brook, pond , seating, fire bowl etc is grass grown through a 1 metre wide plastic mesh for wheel chair use.
