Excellent cottages with disabled facilities
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair
Overview
There are 5 cottages, the biggest is the Middleton which has 3 bedrooms, 2 of them are en-suite, very large kitchen diner, very large lounge and a big seperate wet room. We as a large family get together had 4 of the cottages, all eating & drinking in this large cottage. My self, husband and our dog had the Tudor cottage which is 1 bedroom, kitchen, living room and large wet room. Both cottages had wheelchair access throughout, all grab rails in bathrooms
Transport & Parking
There was ample parking at the side of our cottage on tarmac, there is more parking to the rear of the cottages but this is on small gravel, there are bus stops nearby, but the venue is just over 3 miles from the village of Rhayader. There is a garage with Spar and Greggs cafe about a hundred yards away.
Access
The two disabled cottages are ideal for the less mobile or wheelchair users. Plenty of room to get around, wide doorways. Ramps to the doors.
Toilets
The cottages were fully adapted wet rooms, with stools, grab rails, hand rails at the side of the toilets.
Staff
We were in contact with the owners all the time by email or telephone, though we didn't meet with Elaine the owner we briefly met her husband as we left, nothing was an issue and we are thinking of returning very soon.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
These cottages are perfect for a big family get together/birthday/celebration which might include young children to great grandparents, it caters for the whole family. In each cottage there are games and DVD's.
