Venue Description

Vulcan Lodge Cottages have 2 cottages designed with disabled guests in mind. The Middleton sleeps up to 8 guests. It is on the ground floor, has level access throughout, wide corridors, a large open plan living/dining/kitchen area, double entrance doors and is accessed along a hard core path from the car park. The Tudor sleeps 2 and cars may be parked right outside the entrance door. Both cottages have a wet room and a range of equipment to assist disabled guests. There is a film of the cottages on our website. WE ARE OFFERING A 50% DISCOUNT FOR THE WEEKEND OF 11TH MARCH (3 NIGHTS) TO CELEBRATE DISABLED ACCESS DAY ON 12TH MARCH 2016. The nearby Elan Valley Visitor Centre has electric bikes which can be hired and also has a number of tarmacadam paths with gates specially designed for wheelchair users. The local leisure centre also has facilities for disabled visitors.

Accessibility

Our Tudor and Middleton cottages have: wet room, wheelchair shower, wheelchair/commode chair, commode, shower stool, grab rails in wet room, toilet arms (left transfer in Middleton and left and right transfers in the Tudor), cutlery aids, highlighted sockets and light switches, magnifying lamp, battery operated call bell, beds suitable for hoists, walking frame, wheelchair, electric motability scooter. There is a garden area designed to accommodate wheelchair users.

Awards List

The cottages have been inspected and approved by the Disabled Holiday Information charity. The cottages have VisitWales 4 star grading. We were finalists in the 2013 Powys Business Awards.

Both cottages have a large wet room with aids to assisted disabled guests ie toilet arms, grab rails, dropped mirrors, a shower stool

Staff

We are a family business and look after the cottages and our guests ourselves. Guests therefore have personal service from us as owners.

All of our ground floor cottages (4 in all) accommodate dogs. There is an enclosed garden area where dogs can exercise.
