Venue Description

Vindomora Country Lodges are located in Northumberland near to the picturesque village of Ebchester on the border of County Durham. Comprising of eight, 4 Star & 5 Star Luxury, Hand Built Log Cabins including a restricted mobility lodge, ​each with a covered Private Hot Tub & full amenities, The Coria Lodge has a fixed rail and portable hoist system in one bedroom and over the hot tub, adapted shower room, wider doors, ramped access and wider parking, plus amazing views of open countryside. Accessibility

Access to the site is via automated electronic gates which are operated via the guests mobile phone. Once on site, Check In is provided at the Reception building which has a ramped access. The Coria Lodge, built for guests with restricted mobility, has wider parking for 2 vehicles and a ramped access to the lodge for wheelchair users. This access also has handrails. The Coria Lodge is then accessed via a level entrance and internally the doors are wider to allow wheelchair movement. The adapted shower room has a wheelchair accessible shower with a foldable chair. We also provide a portable shower chair on wheels if required. The toilet is raised and numerous handles are provided next to the toilet and basin. In one bedroom there is a fixed rail and portable hoist system provide. Over the hot tub there is a similar fixed rail system for the portable hoist to allow easy access to the hot tub. The outside access to the patio area and hot tub is level and quite private, but also has amazing views of open countryside.

Awards List

On Thursday 24th March 2022, Vindomora Country Lodges received a Gold Award in the Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Award and a Bronze Award in the Camping, Glamping & Holiday Park of the Year - North East England Tourism Awards 2022. This follows on from us receiving Highly Commended in the Self Catering Accommodation Provider of the Year category, ​North East England Tourism Awards 2020. Vindomora Country Lodges is also a Blue Badge Access Award Finalist 2022 in 2 categories - Bespoke Hotels, Access Champion of the Year / The Leonard Cheshire, Most Inclusive Venue. In October 2023, Vindomora Country Lodges were shortlisted for 2 Awards in the North East England Tourism Awards for 2023/24. Accessible & Inclusive Award, and Camping, Glamping & Holiday Park of the Year Award. Winners will be announced at the end of February 2024.

The Coria Lodge has a fully fitted access toilet and shower room.

Staff

All staff at Vindomora Country Lodges subscribe to the Sunflower Scheme. To help communication with hearing impaired guests, arrangements can be made for a BSL trained member to assist.
