Overview
The Victoria Palace Theatre has allocated private boxes at the rear of the stalls to wheelchair users and their companions. The rear of the stalls has a slight restricted view but the boxes are spacious enough for a power chair user and at least 2 companions if necessary. Tickets for disabled and carers are discounted and seem to be readily available for Hamilton. Staff were amazing from the moment we arrived to our departure.
Transport & Parking
As on the day I visited there was engineering works and hence no trains to Victoria so I travelled by train to Waterloo and took a taxi.
Access
Level access from a side door to the theatre. On arrival you are met immediately by a member of the access staff who gets your tickets for you and shows you to your seats/wheelchair space. All this information was provided in advance on the phone and by email.
Toilets
The disabled toilet was next to the side level entrance to theatre and it had a folding door which gave easy access to a clean and reasonably spacious toilet. At the interval we were shown to the toilet by a member of the access team. Floor length emergency cord in a good location.
Staff
The access staff were efficient, friendly and exceptionally helpful. Once seated we were introduced to our "butler" who was able to provide us with merchandise, pre theatre and interval refreshments, At the interval the access staff asked when we wanted to leave the theatre and, since we had to leave promptly to return home by taxi/ train, they came immediately after the performance and showed us out first.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Brilliant venue with such friendly staff I definitely would like to visit again !
