Overview

I'm a football fan but am always uneasy when going to away games - so much so, in fact that the majority of the time I don't bother. It's too hard to book tickets and, whilst you're on the touch line, the view you get is so often sub-par. My mentality has always been, stick to Charlton's The Valley: the stadium I know best. Why did nobody tell me about Watford before? I can't fault Vicarage Road. They have the best sensory room I've seen and are putting in a Changing Places toilets (but I'm sure if you asked for a hoist they'd have one). Staff are so friendly and all they want to do is improve! There's plenty of wheelchair spaces and more are being added. Up The Hornets. Let's follow their example!

Transport & Parking

My Dad and I drove and arrived early so may have missed the majority of the traffic. It is in a residential area, which means there aren't many routes out of the stadium. This didn't bother me as much as it could of done - we saw a good game with many highlights to chat about! There's a car park with good number of spaces at the bottom of the lane, to the left of the club shop. This is 30secs from where we watched the game and there was no great cram to her in. You see: there' are benefits to the stadium being so tightly packed. Once you're there, you're there: you don't have to wander around endlesssly to try and locate everything.

Access

I honestly can't think of anything they won't have thought of or not be open improving. If you've any worries or questions, ring the club and ask for Dave Messenger. This gent is a gem and nobody could be a better Supporter Liason Officer for the club. He loves Watford FC and that passion rubs off on others. He'll point you in the right direction and will go out of his way to make psure you have the best day imaginable!

Toilets

The toilets were perfectly adequate for me. I had no difficulties - and as I say they'll have there Changing Places toilet up and running quicker than you can say antidisestablishmentarianism (by there next home game, I believe). If you require a hoist, you're safest bet is to ask for a seat close to this. And EG are going to send them cards from the Red Cord Campaign, too!

Staff

If only everybody you met had the understanding and enthusiasm of Watford Football Club employees - that's the dream!
