Venue Description

The V&A has unrivalled collections of contemporary and historic art and design. It houses some of the world's greatest resources for architecture, fashion, photography, theatre and performance, sculpture, contemporary design, ceramics, Asian art and design, furniture, textiles, jewellery, metalwork and many more. There is extensive online access to authoritative information and the knowledge of leading experts.

Accessibility

Both the Cromwell Road and Exhibition Road entrances are accessible with both ramps and stairs. The tunnel entrance is not fully accessible and has stairs with no lift access. The doors at the Cromwell Road entrance are automatic and can be activated by a push plate button. The Exhibition Road and the Tunnel entrance doors are push-pull glass doors. The museum has 18 split levels some of which are ramped with 100% wheelchair access throughout the museum. The museum has lifts which provide access to all levels throughout the building. In Gallery 40 and the Jewellery Gallery platform lifts provide access to upper levels.

Toilets

There are four accessible toilets on the premise with step free access and doors wide enough for manual and power wheelchair. All accessible toilets are fitted with grab rails including easy turn locks and taps.
