Venue Description

The first dedicated design museum in Scotland, V&A Dundee explores the brilliance of Scottish creativity and showcases the best of international design and innovation. ‘Enriching lives through design’, V&A Dundee provides a place of inspiration, discovery and learning and has been designed as an inclusive and accessible building, a place where everyone feels welcome, a living room for the city of Dundee. Inside the museum visitors can enjoy the Scottish Design Galleries which is home to around 300 beautiful and innovative objects telling the story of Scotland’s design heritage - its past, present and future. V&A Dundee also boasts one of Scotland’s largest museum grade exhibition spaces, that will host exhibitions from the V&A in London and other major international institutions as well as shows curated by V&A Dundee. A restaurant located upstairs and a café in the heart of the main hall feature menus created by our award-winning catering partner, Heritage Portfolio. Retail spaces and dedicated learning rooms can also be found inside the museum to accommodate the engaging and exciting programme of events and workshops we offer, inspired by our building and exhibitions, to delight visitors of all ages and so that everyone can share our enthusiasm for design.
