Venue Description
Trinity Shopping Centre is in the heart of Leeds, its is situated with easy access from the Train Station and Local bus service is so much more than a place to shop, there is an extensive range of bars, restaurants, cafes and coffee houses plus Trinity Kitchen with its around the world food vendors and pop up vans giving you a taste of a wide range of foods. You can also visit the cinema and watch the latest movie in the comfort, the Everyman cinema also offers a licenced bar, food and a place to relax before the main event. Trinity Leeds is open from 9am – 8pm Monday to Saturday, and 11am – 5pm on Sundays. The shopping centre has 3 main levels for retail stores (lower ground, ground and 1st), and an upper level comprising of bathrooms and the Quiet Room. The centre is classed as an “open air” shopping mall but is covered throughout by glass roofing. The flooring is made of anti-slip tiles, and there is adequate lighting throughout the centre. Overhead music plays without profanity at a medium level.
Accessibility
LOWER GROUND -There are escalators located around the Centre. Starting in the east side opposite the apple store which run from the lower ground level up to the Ground floor close to Fraser Hart the Jewellers. There is a further set of escalators on this level which run from outside of Claire’s on the ground floor up to the Everyman Cinema on the 1st floor. There are escalators located on the lower ground floor close to H&M home up to Primark on the ground floor. FIRST FLOOR -There is further set of escalators located by Trinity Kitchen which run down to the ground floor by the Albion Street entrance. There is a set of escalators to the side of Boots on the 1st floor which leads up the washrooms and Quiet Room on the upper level. There are Lifts located on each floor of the shopping centre. The closest and most accessible pedestrian access is through the Briggate entrance on the lower ground floor, and the lifts are situated next to the escalators opposite the Apple store. There are two lifts located here which run from the 1st floor down to Boar Lane basement and street level which also has a pedestrian entrance next to Trinity Church. There is a clear level manoeuvring space of 150cm × 150cm in front of the lift. The lifts have a visual floor indicator and an audible announcer. There is a mirror to aid reversing out of the lift. There is a lift located by the Albion Street entrance on ground floor, the floors accessible via these lifts are the ground floor, 1st floor and upper level (washrooms). There is not a clear level manoeuvring space of 150cm × 150cm in front of the lift. The lifts have a visual floor indicator and an audible announcer. There is a mirror to aid reversing out of the lift.
Toilets
There are two sets of washroom/toilet facilities within the shopping centre. The first is located on the 1st floor next to the Everyman Cinema and is accessible by escalator or lift. There are separate men’s and women’s bathrooms in this area, with a large number of cubicles, urinals and sinks in each. There are 3 family rooms which include a regular and small sized toilet, a baby changing unit, a sink and space for pushchairs. There is also a dedicated baby changing room here. There are 2 disabled washrooms in this area and changing places room which includes a hoist. There are members of staff in this area who carry a Radar key to unlock these rooms. The second set of washrooms/toilets is located above Trinity Kitchen on the upper level. There is escalator and lift access to this area. There are separate men’s and women’s washroom facilities, 2 disabled washrooms and a baby changing facility. There are members of staff in this area who carry a Radar key to unlock these rooms.
Staff
Guest Services is located on the 1st floor across from H&M and near to Primark. There is a wide entrance and the area is open plan. The desk is situated at the entrance way with a dropped accessible section. The floor is made of anti-slip laminate wood, to create a calming a welcoming ambiance our lounge is a quiet space although music from the mall can be heard. There is adequate lighting and air conditioning. There is a carpeted seating area near the rear of the lounge with a sofa and 2 armchairs, and a private fitting room with a privacy curtain. There is also a table with 4 chairs. Guest services has mobility scooters and wheelchairs available these can be booked for use within the shopping centre (dependant on availability). Guest Services provide free Hidden Disability Lanyards to guests requiring additional assistance whilst visiting the centre. They also provide various free Sensory Toys for those who may need a distraction whilst shopping. The Guest Services Team has a facility whereby we can communicate with pictures via email.
