Overview
Fully Accessible Community Café which offers training and employment to young people with additional needs. Plenty of room, lots of choice and home baking goodies at reasonable prices. The venue also has a small shop selling gifts and home baking. Changing places toilet on site
Transport & Parking
I travelled by wheelchair taxi, dropping off point outside venue, on a very busy main road.Street parking available, the nearest dedicated disabled parking space I observed was at the public library around the corner. Venue is on public bus route
Access
Fully accessible for wheelchairs. Good signage The café operates a one way system now, so quite a distance from pavement to main entrance and cafe, for those with mobility limitations, did not observe any seating for a rest Automatic doors in place, but one at main entrance not working when visited, not sure if this was because it was the point where contact details were being taken
Toilets
The venue has one of the few Changing Places Toilets in the area, however this was blocked by the table taking contact details at the main entrance, so did not view, plenty of helpful staff, so am sure would only take a moment to enable access. Another accessible toilet available, clean , roomy, and plenty of room for chair and carer
Staff
Extremely , friendly and helpful, very welcoming
Anything else you wish to tell us?
One way system, hand sanitisers, contact station, and limit on how many people in at a time or at the counter for placing orders. Would highly recommend, only thing that could be improved would be to fix the automatic door, I needed assistance to hold it open from someone behind me in the queue
