Venue Description

Award-winning sustainable Scottish restaurant situated within the Scottish National Gallery. Set against the iconic Princes Street Gardens in the heart of Edinburgh offering contemporary Scottish dining.

Accessibility

The restaurant can be accessed via one of two entrances. The first, on level one of the building, can be accessed via East Princes Street Gardens, which has a wheelchair accessible path descending from Princes Street and Waverley Bridge. The entrance to the Royal Scottish Academy building is via automatic double doors, and the entrance to the restaurant (only a few metres from the entrance, to the right) is also through double doors. The second entrance is via the back of the RSA building, on the Mound precinct just opposite the National Gallery building. Here, a ramp allows access to the RSA building, and a standard lift services every floor (the restaurant is on level one). There are no steps or slopes within the restaurant. There are a number of tables with a clear path and significant space around them - we do request that guests book in advance where possible, and leave a booking comment outlining their access requirements, so that we can reserve them a table that will accommodate their needs.

Assistance dog facilities

Assistance dog exercise facilities

A number of green spaces suitable for off-lead exercise are accessible by foot, public transport, and car. Calton Hill is located ~10 minutes away from the restaurant. The steep incline makes it difficult to access for wheelchair users, but there is parking for blue badge holders at the top. The Meadows is another option, about a 15 minute bus ride or 20 minute walk away. This is a flat park, with maintained paths throughout.

Other assistance dog facilities

We are happy to provide assistance dogs with a bowl of water on request. The restaurant is located within East Princes Street Gardens, a large open green space where on-lead dogs are welcome.
