The Reuse Shop and RecyKillin

Morenish Place, Killin, FK21 8UR, United Kingdom

Venue Description

The Reuse Shop is a community charity shop raising funds for Killin and Ardeonaig Community Development Trust. We sell a fantastic range of items from bric-a-brac to clothing, to books and DVD's, all at bargain prices! It's a treasure trove that attracts tourists and villagers alike. We're also home to RecyKillin which is our community Tool Library, lending tools the way regular libraries lend books in a bid to tackle the footprint of our community. Why buy new when we have over 100 tools on offer? In the shop you'll also find the community fridge, where food waste from the local co-op is offered to the community for free. Everyone is invited to take a loaf of bread or bag of veg to help us reduce food waste in the village. Sometimes there's even cake! We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Accessibility

The shop is very small but we do our best to welcome as many visitors as possible. The entrance to the shop has a long ramp and the door opens into the shop with a standard door knob - staff can be seen from the window in the door and assistance requested if required (the door is usually open in the warmer weather but closed in winter) Most manual wheelchair users, self propelling or otherwise, will find adequate space within the shop. Powerchair users may find space and corners more challenging, though most of our rails can be moved to accommodate. Sadly, although smaller scooter users can access the shop, there isn't enough room to get around. If you'd like to come in, our staff can assist with shopping. Some bric-a-brac, books and toys are above head height for anyone seated - please just ask for assistance. One of our volunteers can use BSL but her days are variable. If you have a visual impairment, our staff are more than happy to assist, please just let us know. Private shopping sessions: If you would like a private shopping session before the shop opens, this can be arranged by contacting us via our Facebook page. This might be helpful if you require extra space due to your mobility aid, or would benefit from a quieter experience without other customers. We apologise that not everyone is able to shop independently in The Reuse Shop at the moment, and do recognise that this is frustrating and disappointing. We have a new and much larger premises on the horizon and accessibility will be a key focus for us - thanks for bearing with us!
