Venue Description
Visit Our Magical Apothecary in York The Potions Cauldron, your local wizard shop, is situated in England's oldest shopping street at 9¾ Shambles, York YO1 7LZ. Shambles is York’s most historic street and a must see for any visitor to the city. The street dates back to 1086 and was mentioned in the Domesday Book. Shambles has been described by Visit England as "the real Diagon Alley", thanks to the several magical and movie themed shops. Once inside the shop you will find all the magical potions that were originally served centuries ago as well as the chance to visit the secret Potion Room, enjoy our Adult Cauldron Experience from £24.99. Remember, you can also buy our magical products in our online shop or visit The Potions Academy and experience the 'Potions Class' and 'Broom School'. Strictly for over 18s! Experience our 5 STAR rated Adult Cauldron Experience. (See the reviews on Google for yourself!) This lasts 50 minutes and includes a welcome tipple and two magical potion cocktails, plus a chance to see the magic of our Secret Potion Room for just 24.99 per person. (Please note... this is a magical experience, NOT a cocktail-making class!)Accessibility
There is level access through the front entrance. To gain access to the pavement you should go to the Pavement street end where there is a dropped curb on the right hand side as you look up the Shambles from the pavement. We are located about 3 quarters of the way down the Shambles, which can be a very busy street. The shop is very small in size but the staff will assist you where they can and help with any products you might want to see or know more about. Due to the space in the experience room and the shop we can only accommodate one wheelchair user in a standard sized wheelchair during the experience. Please call or email to check availability before making your booking. We offer Sensory bags for use in our Experience. These include Ear Defenders, a Squishy Potion Cube, a Sensory ball, a Wiggly wand and a Sensory wand.
