Overview
Entrance to the Pleasance courtyard there are no dropped kerbs so if you are in a powered wheelchair you really need to stay on the road to access it. Once in the courtyard it is pretty much accessible although it is cobbled stones so is a little uneven and the ticket office is up a couple of steps but if you speak to staff they are generally very helpful. access to theatre was via a wheelchair lift to level 3 through a staff only entrance. There is an accessible toilet next to the bar as you enter the building.
Transport & Parking
There is on street parking, but parking is quite difficult near the venue during the festival. We got parked approx 5 mins away. The train station is approx 10-15 mins walk away. There is a bus service that passes the door although unsure as to the numbers.
Access
Overall access is pretty good although there is steps up to the box office. The theatre itself, the wheelchair spaces are directly as you go in the door and the staff are excellent making sure you are settled.
Toilets
There was a good accessible toilet on the ground floor of venue. Unsure if there was any on the other floors.
Staff
Staff were very helpful although prior to the show, whilst waiting on someone to take us to theatre, it would have been helpful and less stressful had they told me the show was running late as I thought they had forgotten about me. Also, they forgot to come and take me back down at the end of the show. To be fair, this was the first day of the fringe shows there, so maybe some "teething problems".
Anything else you wish to tell us?
To Access the theatre I was asked to wait in the bar area and a staff member would take us up via wheelchair lift, which was through a "staff only" door to level 3. The show was running late but no one told us. it would have been helpful if we were kept informed. We were then told that someone would come get us to exit the show. We were left waiting as they forgot, although it got rectified when we mentioned it.
