Set in 17 acres of ground on the outskirts of Moffat town The Moffat Distillery is the first modern wood-fired distillery in Scotland, we are delighted to educate our visitors about the small-scale history in distilling in Scotland. Unlike most Scotch distilleries, our entire process can be viewed in one place. From curious bystanders, to whisky novices, to Scotch experts, we provide an experience to deepen everyone's understanding of Scotch making and Scottish culture. Online booking for tours. What it means to be wood-fired: "We believe it's life at it's most basic: a warm fire, food and drink made from the heart, and a place to share that experience. This is what we call the hearth. A lifeforce to bring people together. Whether through our whisky, our gin, our process or our place, we are glad to welcome you."

Accessibility

Entrance to the site is by a ramp at the front of the site which is the main access for all. The whole site is on one level throughout. Disabled toilets also with easy access. As the site is all on one level throughout access for disabled visitors have ease of access in both the main area and also the distilling area allowing them to participate in the full tour. We have an area called the midnight parlour should visitors wish to have quiet area or a more personalised tasting pre or after the tour.
