Overview
I admit that we called into The McManus Art Gallery and Museum primarily to get out of the wet day but we were very pleasantly surprised at the variety of things to see. The museum told the history of the city in many ways which, I am sure, will be of interest to those living in the city as well as visitors such as myself. At the time of my visit there were a few galleries closed for changes of the displays and maintenance but this certainly did not spoil my visit. As is the norm for such places, there is a café and gift shop. It would take up to much of your reading time for me to go into detail of the excellent and informative displays and paintings on view so I suggest that should you be in Dundee for a visit, allow a couple of hours of your time to visit this very interesting art gallery and museum. You don’t have to wait until the weather is driech.
Transport & Parking
As we were ‘walking/buggying’ we did not look for any disabled parking, but there is no mention of any on the website - http://www.mcmanus.co.uk/
Access
The museum is well laid out with each of the eight rooms being themed. Split over two floors, I found the museum easy to get around on my mobility buggy, thanks to wide corridors, door and a lift.
Toilets
There was a disabled toilet signposted but I did not use it
Staff
Not a lot of interaction
