Venue Description

The Glee Clubs are an award winning group of comedy clubs with venues across the country. We currently have venues in Birmingham, Cardiff, Nottingham, Oxford and now Glasgow. We are most well known for live comedy however we also put on live music, burlesque, drag, spoken word and other types of shows. Over the years comedians such as Michael McIntyre, Lee Evans, Peter Kay, Sarah Millican, Kevin Bridges, Jack Whitehall and Katherine Ryan have graced our stages and music acts such as Adele and Mumford and Sons have also played our clubs. The Glee Club Birmingham is based in the city centre on Hurst Street and opened in 1994.

Accessibility

There is step-free level access to The Glee Bar on the ground floor level of our venue, which acts as a reception bar before shows. This has wide open doors. Wheelchair users and those unable to navigate stairs will be then shown to the auditorium on the first floor via a standard lift at the rear of our building, by our friendly team of floor staff. Once on the first floor, the auditorium and customer areas is all on one step-free flat level. If you are a wheelchair user, it is really useful for us to know what type and size of wheelchair you have when you contact us, in order to place you in the best position possible for you to enjoy the show.

Toilets

There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor in The Glee Bar, and on the auditorium level. Both have step-free access with wide doors suitable for manual and power wheelchairs. Both have grab rails, easy turn locks and taps, and space for a carer to assist.

Staff

Our friendly venue staff are on hand to assist with safe entrance into the lifts and areas of the club.
