Venue Description

The Ivybridge Donkey Sanctuary Centre provides donkey interaction sessions to children with additional needs and disabilities. We also have a team of specially trained donkeys which travel to visit residents at day centres, nursing homes and hospices. We welcome visitors and members of the public at the following times: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 3pm -5pm. Saturday & Sunday 10am-3pm. We have a shop to visit and a kitchen which provides refreshments. and you can meet the herd of donkeys on the main yard or in the front paddock area during fine weather. Wheelchair access across the site and disabled toilets and a disabled changing facitilies are available

Accessibility

Disabled car parking spaces available. Wheelchair access across the entire site . All the grounds are flat level and wide access door making all areas of the site fully accessible by all persons with a disability. Disabled toilets and a disabled changing facilities are available. Disabled toilet has alarm call bell installed. Wheelchair access to view our donkeys on the main yard.

Staff

As a riding therapy Centre for children with additional needs, all of our staff & volunteers deal with persons with disabilities each day. Our entire Centre is designed to accommodate wheelchair access. All our staff and volunteers have basic Makaton training and we are a Makaton friendly registered site.

Water bowls are available for all dogs. We ask that owners clean up after their own dog and dispose of waste in the appropriate bin.
