Approach to site Approach to site is about 25m across a relatively level tarmac surface. Visitor centre The shop and exhibition has a small ramp at the door. Monument The Blackhouse is all on one level. The doors and ceilings are very low, and there are some narrow passageways. The floors are uneven and it can be very dark. It can also be very smokey, because of the open fire. The Whitehouse is reached over a large rough stone drain cover and a slight threshold at the door. The ruined blackhouses are accessed over an uneven grass surface.
