Venue Description
The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) creates theatre at its best, made in Stratford-upon-Avon and shared around the world. The Swan Theatre is a favourite space for many actors, directors and audiences. An intimate theatre, it seats 426 people on three sides of a deep thrust stage. We regularly perform plays by Shakespeare's contemporaries and new plays on the swan stage.Accessibility
The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) creates theatre at its best, made in Stratford-upon-Avon and shared around the world. The Royal Shakespeare Theatre is our main venue, where we perform Shakespeare's plays and other work. We want to make everything we do accessible to all our audiences, and are constantly seeking to find new and effective ways of breaking down barriers to enable attendance by the widest range of people. There is at least one captioned and one audio described performance for every play we put on. We also offer touch tours, and semi-integrated British Sign Language performances – followed by interpreted post show talks. Our relaxed performances have been developed for people with learning disabilities and sensory and communication disorders, but are open to anyone who would benefit from a relaxed environment. We also offer audio enhancement on our Theatre Tours. We want our theatres to be as accessible as possible - there are accessible parking spaces close to all our buildings, and inside the auditorium we have wheelchair accessible spaces and hearing loops. Throughout our building there are accessible toilets and ramps. Assistance dogs can be taken into the auditorium, but please tell us when booking your seat that you are bringing your dog.
