All aboard! Join us on a journey through 200 years of transport history. Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the past at Streetlife Museum. Take a stroll down a 1940s high street. Hop aboard a vintage tram. And step back in time to a world of bone-shaking bicycles and steam-powered cars! From world-changing inventions to historic local icons – our transport collection has something for everyone.

Accessibility

There is level access to the ground floor galleries but the signal box and the train loading platform on the street scene are only accessible via a flight of steps. There is a lift to the first floor galleries. Toilets

An Accessible Toilet is available at the toilets nearest the entrance. Our nearest Changing Places Toilet are at the Guildhall (300m away) and Trinity Market (500m away). Baby Change facilities are available in toilets nearest the entrance.

Staff

All staff have been trained in D/deaf awareness (including basic signs), Visual Impairment Awareness and Dementia Awareness training. Some staff have been trained in BSL, Audio Description and writing Easy Read documents.
