Venue Description
This beautiful sixteenth-century church offers a peaceful, free-of-charge visitor experience in the heart of York's Minster quarter. With a notable collection of stained glass, evidence of Guy Fawkes' baptism and a vibrant church life today, the Belfrey extends a warm welcome to visitors of all faiths and none. We'd love to welcome you! For our opening times, please visit https://www.belfrey.org/belfreydoors.
Accessibility
There is stepped access into the main entrance, however there is wheelchair access via a portable ramp. There are then further sets of doors into the main part of the church, but these can be hooked back to provide access wide enough. Please be aware that there are some internal steps within the church building which do not include ramps. There is a wheelchair available to borrow. Assistance dogs are welcome. We would welcome wheelchair users to ask for assistance and we are more than happy for a member of the team to assist.
