Venue Description
No trip to Sprotbrough Flash nature reserve is ever the same, thanks to the varied wildlife and habitats – but you can always count on a sense of peace and connection with nature. The reserve is managed by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, and can be accessed via the towpath. The riverside towpath along the Don is flat and level. It passes through the picturesque Don Gorge and you can get close views of wetland wildlife from two accessible hides – perhaps a bittern if you’re lucky!
Accessibility
The towpath along the river Don is level and accessible for wheelchair users, although it is a fair distance to the bird hides. Both hides are wheelchair-accessible. The woodland is not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs. Dogs are welcome on leads.
