Venue Description

Rosedale is a beautiful, wheelchair-accessible holiday let in the heart of the stunning Golden Valley, Herefordshire. Sleeping up to 10 people with 5 bedrooms, the property is all on one level, enabling the family to be together. The most accessible bedroom has a hi-lo profiling bed with drop-down padded side rails, an ensuite wetroom with roll-in shower, height adjustable sink, and bidet toilet (Closomat) with wall-mounted drop-down rails on either side. There are H-track ceiling hoists covering the accessible bedroom and wetroom, enabling safe transfers to and from anywhere within those rooms. The property has lovely private gardens, with great views across the Golden Valley, and a wonderful purpose-built garden room housing a 3-seater hot tub with a ceiling hoist. The garden is step-free, and also has a wheelchair-accessible games room with a mini pool table, colouring / art station, and a range of indoor & outdoor games and toys. Rosedale offers the privacy, peace, and tranquillity of a rural location, while being under half a mile stroll to a well-stocked village shop, café, bistro, and a bar / restaurant.

Accessibility

The property has private off road parking for up to 6 vehicles. The driveway is compacted stone, leading to a gently sloping slabbed doorway. There is a doorsill of 1 inch, with 1/2 inch thick mats to support access for powerchairs to the front doorway. The rear doorway to the property (which can be accessed through the side gate) is level access. Inside the property, the living room, dining room and kitchen are open plan. The dining table is high enough for wheelchair users to use. The kitchen has a blender, lidded cups for hot and cold drinks, and soft silicone straws. The hallway from kitchen to the bedrooms is wide - all doorways can be driven through with a regular adult-sized powerchair. The accessible bedroom has hi-lo profiling bed with drop down padded side rails. There is an over-bed table with adjustable height settings. The ensuite wetroom has level access roll in shower, height adjustable sink, and raised toilet. The toilet is a Closomat so users can wash and dry if required, using elbow-activated flush, or a hand held pad. Langham steps are provided for foot rests. There are wall-mounted drop down rails either side of the toilet. The accessible bedroom and wetroom have H-track hoists, enabling safe and easy transfers to and from anywhere in those rooms. The bedroom hallway has several turning circles along its length. The rear garden has several seating areas with room for wheelchairs and patio furniture. There is a gently sloping path with 'rest points' for manual wheelchair users. The gardens are step-free. The front garden has a wheelchair-accessible bridge across a small stream. There is a 3-seater hot tub housed in a purpose-built garden room, with full length glass bifold doors onto the garden, and a ceiling track hoist. The hot tub has 2 seated and one reclined moulded seat. To the side of the property is a wheelchair-accessible level access games room, with mini pool table, colouring / art station, along with indoor and outdoor games.

Toilets

There are H track ceiling hoists, closomat toilet and height adjustable sink. There are drop down wall-mounted rails either side of the closomat. The closomat flush is activated by push pads by hand or elbow. There is also a hand-held pad to activate flush if required. The Closomat is raised, langham staps are provided as step or footrests. The wetroom easily fits a wheelchair, wheelchair user and 2 carers. A hi lo profiling bed is in the adjoining bedroom with H track ceiling hoist enabling transfers across and between both rooms.
