Overview
I've been to see two Fringe circus shows here this year, and both have been excellent. I love this part of the Fringe because it feels a lot calmer than the other central areas. A colourful, easy to navigate space with smooth, wide walkways and various seats and tables.
Transport & Parking
This is probably the trickiest part of accessing this venue. As it's in the middle of The Meadows, naturally there is no way to drive right up to the circus tents. You'd need to park on the outskirts of the park, or get one of the frequent buses surrounding The Meadows and walk into the middle. The closest direction is probably from George Square Gardens, but there's a little (fairly steep) slope coming down from this. An alternative route is via the Quartermile which connects to Middle Meadow Walk. This is busy, but a nice wide path. Watch out for cyclists in the cycle lane! There are lots of options for reaching the Circus Hub once you're on the edge of the park.
Access
I'm always impressed by the wide boardwalks they have at the Circus Hub. There's a nice clear path to follow throughout the venue. The trickiest bit to access is probably the bar, as it's the busiest part and quite high up. Access into the two venues is good. The La Fayette tent has good front row seating with wheelchair access - the best place to get a good view of all the amazing stunts! The Beauty is unique as it has its own bar inside if you need a refreshment during the show. I love how organised the queuing system is out here as well.
Toilets
Generally okay for portacabin standard. The toilets are tucked around colourful walls at the back of the Circus Hub (behind The Beauty). The accessible loo has another one of those slightly awkward right angle turns up the ramp, but the door opens in such a direction that you shouldn't be trapped or unable to turn.
Staff
Queuing staff are great, but for some reason at this venue I've found bar staff to be less friendly than everywhere else at the Fringe, both times I've been. It's odd.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Circa: Humans is probably still my favourite show of the festival this year! Highly recommend.
