Venue Description
Pollokshields Library is a 2 storey sandstone cavity brick building, built in 1900 to serve the residents of Pollokshields. It offers free access to Adult and Children books along with access to PC's which are also free. We offer free Wi-Fi and a comfortable place to sit and study whilst our friendly staff are always here to help.
Accessibility
The Library has a ramp which is moderate, permanent and is 100cm wide. It has hand railings on both sides. The main entrance is a heavy single width door of 80cm which pushes away from the customer. The Internal door is 80cm wide and requires to be pulled towards the customer. There is 1 x PC with Zoom hardware that allows increased visual and audio.

The Library as part of Glasgow Life has just awarded the Customer Excellence Award.
Toilets
The toilet is unisex with a key required to gain access. This key is kept at reception and is not a radar key. The door is heavy, comes out to meet the customer and is 84cm wide with the cubicle it self measuring 145cm x 210cm. There is a lateral transferrable space of 56cm although the support rail is not at this side. The toilet seat is 45cm above floor level with the sink being 77cm above floor level. There is an audible alarm for emergencies.
