This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair, Powerchair
Overview
An outside accessible cabin was booked and arriving at the ferry port we were advised to put on our hazard warning lights and on entry to the ferry were shown to a parking space with plenty of room for accessibility and near the lift. This allowed us to to get straight to our cabin; larger than normal with a wheelchair accessible shower room. We could access nearly all of the ferry (just really the outside deck had steps, but it was overnight and cold and raining so for us not a problem- there may even have been a lift we did not look). Mostly easy to get round the ferry, just a few bumps and small spaces but on the whole very doable. Everyone was really helpful and we had lots of offers of help if we needed it. In the morning we went to the lift to access the car deck again and a member of staff was ensuring the lifts were only used by those who needed to use them. We were quickly reunited with our car to drive off the ferry. A great way to travel.
Transport & Parking
Placed in a place easy to get out wheelchair and near the lift
Access
Our cabin; larger than normal with a wheelchair accessible shower room. Emergency phone available in the room. We could access nearly all of the ferry (just really the outside deck had steps, but it was an overnight ferry and cold and raining so for us not a problem- there may even have been a lift we did not look). Mostly easy to get round the ferry, just a few bumps and small spaces but on the whole very doable. Everyone was really helpful and we had lots of offers of help if we needed it.
Toilets
We had a powered wheelchair and my husband was able to stand; the shower room was fine. A slight ramp into the bathroom which could be a bit disorientating when not in a wheelchair perhaps especially being on a boat. But easy for a wheelchair user. There was a higher toilet and grab rails, emergency cord.
Staff
lovely, many offers of help as we went along. Very welcoming
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Would recommend this as a great way of travelling to Holland - Hull to Rotterdam ferry
