Venue Description

Set in the former HM Convict Prison Peterhead, the museum sits within a 6 acre site and highlights the work of the brave personnel that worked here while in operation from 1888-2013. Now a 5* Visitor Attraction we pride ourselves in a very high standard of customer care, while retaining the authentic look of the former prison. Fully accessible we have attentive staff who are always keen to go that extra mile to ensure every visitors moments turn into memories while with us. A mix of indoor and outdoor throughout the site, so please dress appropriately and just enjoy an experience you will never forget.

Accessibility

Our site has a range of access from: Disabled Parking outside main reception, a flat entrance to main reception, followed by ramps at key locations and an external lift at the end of the tour which is the only part that goes up one level. An Access Guide forms part of our website for full details of accessible toilets and measures in place for your support needs. If you call ahead a staff member will be allocated to support your specific needs to ensure you enjoy the full experience provided to all visitors.

We are currently in discussion in how best we can provide a "Changing Places Toilet" for use in the future.

Meantime staff are undergoing a range of training from BSL to Access Needs on a rolling programme.
