Venue Description
Awen Cultural Trust’s purpose is to ‘make people’s lives better’ and through our libraries we are committed to improving the literacy of people of all ages; supporting reading for pleasure through initiatives such as the Summer Reading Challenge; enhancing wellbeing and tackling digital exclusion through events and activities; and providing unbiased access to sources of trusted information. We were the first library service in Wales to remove fines for overdue books. At our libraries we offer facilities such as: 2 hours free parking, wheelchair access, free Wi-Fi, photocopying and printing services, CD'S and DVD's, Audiobooks, free internet access, study spaces, activities for everyone, software for visually impaired and we have friendly staff who are always on hand to help with anything you need. Please note our temporary library location is: Salem Chapel Vestry, Coychurch Road, Pencoed, CF35 5LY.
Accessibility
Entrance - Entrance at street level, through automatic doors. The first set of automatic doors are double and the second set are single and can fit a wheel chair/large mobility scooter. There is a standard passenger lift to the children’s library on the first floor.
Toilets
There is a disabled toilet on the first floor (accessed via the lift) There is a hoist and changing facilities. The door is wide enough for wheelchair access. There are grab rails. There are easy turn locks. There is a panic alarm.

All staff have undertaken dementia awareness training.
