Venue Description

Parc Slip Nature Reserve and Visitor Centre is managed by The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. With parking and toilets the visitor centre is appropriate for all and just on the outskirts of the nature reserve. Wonder around the beautiful reserve, catching a glimpse of the rare Lapwing birds or gazing upon our wildlife meadow, before settling down in our cosy visitor centre café to satisfy the appetite you worked up. Parc Slip's café boasts incredible homemade cakes as well as sandwiches, paninis, soups and jacket spuds. Open every day except Mondays there really is no reason not to visit. Even when the weather is bad, you can spot wildlife from inside the café as it visits the pond just outside.

Accessibility

Parc Slip Visitor Centre's entrance consists of a very small ramp and double doors that provide a wide access point to the café. Inside the café is all level and fairly spacious for good movement around the place. The centre also has a lift up to is Discovery Room (which holds events) and the lift is a standard lift with double doors and is used by both disabled and abled people.

Assistance dog facilities

Assistance dog exercise facilities

As a nature reserve we ask that all dogs remain on leads so not to disrupt the local wildlife. But the reserve is full of curious smells, sights and sounds that any dog would dream of. The nature reserve is adjacent to the visitor centre and flat paths throughout the majority of the trails. Most paths are also fairly wide and you can make your walk as short or as long as you want to. Our bird hides are also accessible and not too fair onto the reserve.

Water bowls are placed outside the visitor centre daily for any dogs that get a little thirsty.
