Venue Description
PACSO (the Parents and Carers Support Organisation) is a unique local charity, based in Chichester and serving families across West Sussex. We offer a wide range of out of school clubs and activities to disabled children and their able-bodied siblings, thereby providing much needed short break provision to them and their families. The PACSO ethos is one of inclusion. Children and young people with SEND often find it difficult to be a part of ‘mainstream’ clubs because staff often lack the experience and training to deal with people who have special or additional needs, but at PACSO everyone is welcome! Here at PACSO we believe the person comes before their disability. Therefore, you will find children of all ages and all disabilities (physical, learning and behavioural) playing together, making friends and having fun. What’s more, we also understand the special role that brothers and sisters ('young carers' ) play, and we include them in the fun!
Accessibility
All PACSO play venues are accessible to children, staff and visitors with mobility needs. Play venues are all on the ground floor and have doors with wide access and disabled toilets. The PACSO office is based on the first floor and is not accessible to wheelchair users. However, arrangements can be made to meet wheelchair users on the ground floor.
