Venue Description

Self Catering Cottage.  West Hele is a working beef farm and the ‘Orchard Barn’ has been awarded Visit Britain 4 stars with mobility access M3I and M3A.  The Orchard Barn is warm, spacious, comfortable and set in the large, old orchard.  There are 3 en-suite bedrooms, one of which is on the ground floor with a wet room.  There is level access throughout the ground floor.

Accessibility

There is ample car parking, with a gently sloping ramp or three steps to the patio,complete with hand rails There is level access from the patio to the lounge of the Orchard Barn. All doorways more than the minimum width for wheelchair users. The ground floor of the holiday cottage is underfloor heated with ceramic tiling and level throughout. There is one twin bedded room on the ground floor, with en-suite wetroom which is fitted with plenty of grab rails. The kitchen is fitted with slightly lowered worktops enabling wheelchair users to use the kitchen facilities.

Toilets

There is an en-suite wet room on the ground floor. The ground floor is level throughout. Users of both manual and power wheelchairs have stayed in the Orchard Barn and been very happy with the wet room, which has plenty of grab rails. The toilet is higher than the average toilet and taps are easy to use. No need for a RADAR lock as this wet room is en-suite to the downstairs bedroom.
