Occupational therapists work to break down the barriers which hold back individuals in carrying out their day-to day-activities. Occupational Therapy Surrey CIC is a not-for-profit independent OT company specialising in breaking down barriers that hinder individuals from carrying out their day-to-day activities. Our expertise lies in addressing barriers to our clients. These are typically things such as access issues, shower safety, and mobility concerns both within and outside the property. We primarily work with adults, particularly older adults. However, if the outstanding job was anything to do with the physical side of a child or young person’s disability, this would be within our remit also. What sets Occupational Therapy Surrey CIC apart is that everyone within our organisation has personal lived experience operating in a world that often falls short in meeting their needs as individuals with impairments. This unique perspective allows us to offer empathy and understanding, emphasising the importance of providing robust solutions that enable our clients to carry out essential tasks and move on to activities that truly enhance their quality of life. We can help you find a solution personally and provide our expertise to find solutions to: *Adapt your house or to more efficiently achieve a task within it. If you are a home owner you want to know what to do. *Perhaps you are considering using, swapping or changing a mobility aid and wish to have some professional input so you do not waste your money on something that is in-appropriate or even just dangerous. *You might be needing a professional opinion or reports done as you are attempting to access something different, from housing to education, to employment. *You are an employer and would like to advice regarding making your business more accessible or putting in reasonable adjustments

Accessibility

We provide a service that comes to you. We come and see you in the environment you are functioning in. We explain our process before we agree to work together. We will then arrange a date and time to come and see you, plus anyone else involved at a time at suits you. While most of our work is done 9-5 week days it is possible for us to accommodate clients outside of that, especially if it is important for you to have someone with you and they also work similar hours to us. To assist you we can make phone calls to remind you of our planned visit. We can offer communication in easy read, with pictures, or written down to help you understand / remember We are able to offer communication with Makaton signing

We are occupational therapists - professionals whos role it is to include those with impairments into activities they want to do, need to do or are expected to do. Therefore, our expertise is in working with people who have impairments. Whatever, we can do to help - please ask us. Every member of our staff has their own impairment so understands how difficult things can be when the world around you isn't inclusive.
