Venue Description

Reopening after refurbishment in September 2003, O2 Academy Liverpool welcomed its first act to the stage, Shack, and the sold out crowd’s reception confirmed their status as legendary musicians and heroes in their hometown. From rock legends, indie all-stars, cutting edge dance and urban acts, to showcasing the rising talent of the future in the 500 capacity O2 Academy2 Liverpool, the venue is perfectly positioned, fulfilling AMG’s high ambitions.

Accessibility

The area in O2 Academy Liverpool is limited to 4 wheelchair patrons and 4 companions which can be accessed via lift. O2 Academy2 Liverpool venue has a smaller room, lift access with space for 2 wheelchairs and 2 companions. The bars do not have lowered sections but staff will be happy to assist customers. The merch stall will be inside the foyer at the entrance for all O2 Academy Liverpool shows. For O2 Academy2 shows, the merch stand is not accessible but staff will be available for assistance, if required.

Awards List

The venue is signed up to Attitude Is Everything's Charter of Best Practice in 2006 and hold a silver certificate. More recently, the venue has become a CredAble Provider and supports the Access Card http://credability.uk.com/access-card/

Toilets

There is 1 accessible toilet which serves both venues. It is on the first floor and is accessed by RADAR key.

Staff

Staff have attended Disability Awareness training and are happy to assist as and when required and will always strive to ensure patrons have an enjoyable and stress free experience when visiting.
