Venue Description

O2 Academy Bournemouth, built in 1894, is an outstanding Grade II listed building and provides a beautiful backdrop for any live performance. Following major refurbishment in 2006, O2 Academy Bournemouth launched in September 2009 with The xx supporting and Florence and the Machine showing off the acoustics of this magnificent theatre.

Accessibility

The venue entrance is via the front doors and is level access. The Ground Floor of the auditorium is also accessible and suitable for wheelchair users. Please let the venue know if you require a seat as there is usually no seating on this level. The Dress Circle is located on the upper level but is only accessed by stairs. The venue does not have lowered sections at bars but please ask a member of Security or Management who will be happy to assist you. The Merchandise Stand is accessible and on the Ground Floor.

Awards List

The venue signed up to Attitude is Everything's Charter of Best Practice in 2006 and hold a silver certificate. More recently the venue has become a CredAble Provider and supports the Access Card http://credability.uk.com/access-card/

Toilets

There’s an accessible toilet controlled by a RADAR key which staff will provide access to if needed. It’s just outside the auditorium on ground level. There are more toilets available in the same area, so please speak to any member of staff for directions and assistance, especially if you’re visiting us for the first time.

Staff have attended Disability Awareness training and are happy to assist as and when required and will always strive to ensure patrons have an enjoyable and stress free experience when visiting.
