Venue Description
Kingfisher and Barn Owl Cottages are two beautiful barn conversions, each sleeping four people. The cottages are mirror-images of each other and can be rented individually or together for a larger group. The cottage are located on the beautiful North Farm which is also home to a number of resident artists, including a stone-carver and potter. They been converted to a very high standard with a well equipped kitchen-diner, sitting room with home entertainment system, double bedroom, twin bedroom, bathroom and separate WC. Inside, the cottages are all on one-level. Outside there is a private enclosed garden and the farm is situated in open country. To make travelling easier for families, a wide range of equipment from travel cots to ride-on tractors, bedguards to bumbos can be provided free of charge. For groups, the cottage can be rented alongside Kingfisher Cottage (sleeping four) and our handmade Shepherd's Hut (sleeping two).
Accessibility
The cottages are all on one-level, making them particularly suitable for the walking disabled. We have tried to think about this when designing the interior of the cottages: - Parking is available at the side of each cottage. There are steps leading from Barn Owl parking space to the cottage. Access to Kingfisher is all at one-level. Entrance is via a front door 838mm wide (775mm clear width) to the cottage or an alternative entrance is via the double doors leading out from the sitting room (which are around 5m from the parking space). - The hallways and kitchens both have tiled floors, complete with underfloor heating. The bedrooms have wooden floors. - The bathrooms (with bath, shower, sink and WC) and separate WCs with sink are all on one-level with the rest of the cottage. Door openings are 838mm. Due to the positioning of the doors, it is frustratingly not possible to enter the bathrooms in a standard sized wheel chair. A permanent shower is situated above the bath. The flooring is tile and the bathrooms are well-lit with ceiling lights. - In each cottage, there is one double bedroom with a zip-lock Kingsize bed . The bed can be accessed from both sides and bed-side lamps are provided on both sides. A built-in wardrobe and drawer storage are provided. There is also a twin bedroom; access to these beds is only available on one side. Further details can be found on our accessibility statement which we would be happy to provide you with a copy of. Please do contact us if you have any further questions.
