Overview
We stayed here for 3 nights - the hotel is in a lovely location and I was glad to see that the former hotel on the site had been given a significant makeover. Our stay could not have been more pleasant, and the hotel was probably the best one we have stayed in in terms of accessibility. The facilities were ideal, but on top of that the staff could not have done enough for us. We will definitely consider a return visit. As a bonus, we were delighted with the pavements and streets of Inverness - we had left the potholes of Glasgow well behind! We 'walked' with the mobility scooter in two circles from the hotel - one through the islands by the river, and one towards the sea and through the town. The flat paving everywhere is absolutely terrific.
Transport & Parking
It had been a bit tricky working out how to get into the grounds, as there was a gate at one end, and a barrier, but we got there! The staff had kept a place for us right in front of the main entrance. There is some gravel, but we were able to use the paving for the most part. Any time we went out, the staff kept our place again.
Access
Our room was right after the main entrance, which was great. No steps, and after a welcoming glass of champagne (nice touch), we were shown around and into our room. Inside the room, everything was easy to manouevre round, and there was a very comfortable chair with arms. We were able to get in and out of the restaurant and bar without any problems. I believe however that the other accessible bedrooms are quite a distance away from the main entrance - ask for Room 14!
Toilets
We didn't use the public toilet in the hotel, but the one in the bedroom was near perfect. Grabrails all in the right places, wetroom with pull-down chair - and a completely separate ensuite with bath for me!!
Staff
If there were 10 stars to choose from, they'd get them here. Everyone was helpful; in particular those who met us at the door, and helped us out again. Any issues were dealt with immediately.
