Getting Here

The Great Western Greenway–Castlebar Network runs from the National Museum of Ireland–Country Life to Lough Lannagh, Castlebar and beyond, through a very pleasant 10km trail. There are a number of Bus Éireann services that may stop near the Museum of Country Life, including routes 52, 66 and 440. Castlebar is the nearest train station to the Museum of Country Life. The train station is approximately 8 kilometres away from the Museum. There are bus services from the train station that may stop near the Museum, but bus departure times may not always coincide with train arrivals.

Parking

There is a large car park on site, including several designated disabled parking spaces. Car parking at the Museum is free of charge. Disabled passengers may be set down and picked up at the front of the main house.
