Mount Stuart, Britain’s most spectacular Victorian Gothic house, offers a memorable day out for the whole family. Walks on the beach, discoveries in the gardens, dazzling interiors, unique architectural details, seasonal events and exhibitions make Mount Stuart a place that captures the imagination! Situated on the Isle of Bute, just 90 minutes from Glasgow.

Site Accessibility There are a limited number of parking spaces close to the House for Blue Badge holders. It is a 15 minute walk between the Visitor Centre and Mount Stuart and we offer a shuttle bus service free of charge. The bus is not wheelchair adapted. Inside the House Mount Stuart has a working lift which can fit a standard sized wheelchair for access to the upper floors. For conservation reasons we encourage visitors to use the wheelchairs we have available on site. Lightweight, portable seating is available for visitors to use throughout the house. Please speak to one of our guides if you require assistance. We can also provide limited written interpretation for our visitors with hearing impairments. Guide dogs and service dogs only are permitted in the house and on our shuttle bus service.
