Venue Description

Maryhill Library was opened in 1907 and is a Carnegie Building “B” listed. Opening hours are Monday/Wednesday 1-8pm Tuesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday 10-5pm Maryhill library offers free Book/Magazine/DVD/Cd/Spoken Word Books for lending. Also offers 8 Pc’s which are for public use Free internet-. WiFi will be available soon. . Maryhill also boasts a large local History Collection and various events occur throughout the year. Free book reservations Fax and Photocopying also available. Maryhill has various ongoing activities – Bounce & Rhyme on Tuesday mornings at 10.30 am for mothers and babies. “Library Club” for primary school children on Friday afternoons at 3.30pm Writer’s Group also on a Tuesday morning 10.30- 12noon ESOL classes an Adult Literacy and Numeracy programme Citizen’s Advice weekly counselling sessions – by appointment only phone 0141 276 0715 to book appointment. Accessibility

Maryhill Library is situated on a busy main road. Disabled access is at the front of the building – up a stone ramp. . It has a disabled toilet/Child Changing Facilities situated in the Junior Library. Maryhill Library re opened in July 2016 after extensive refurbishment.

Awards List

Maryhill Library as part of Glasgow Life Community Facilities and Libraries were successful in achieving Customer Service Excellence Award. It has also attained a Breast Feeding Awareness Award.

Maryhill Library currently has 3/4 staff members who work different shifts to suit the needs of the library. Staff are all very friendly and professional in their manner towards the public. Some staff have been on Disability Awareness training – for the blind
